The process of establishing Lithuanian National Support group for the Forest-based sector Technology Platform  (FTP ) is going on in Lithuania.

11 January 2005 we have first joint meeting of the initiative group to form FTP National Support group in Vilnius. Participated representatives from Ministry of Environment, Association of woodworking industries "Lietuvos mediena" and Forest Owners Association of Lithuania. Representatives of General State Forest Enterprise and Ministry of Economy express their support to the process.

Following decisions has been achieved: =====================================================

1.Participated parties supported FTP process and agreed to establish FTP Lithuanian National Support group. Ms. Laura Kasnauskaite nominated as a secretary (contact person).

2. The official establishment of of FTP NSG will take place at time of next joint meeting, where all stakeholders will be invited to participate. The initiative group will organise this event in Vilnius. The preliminary time for next meeting is first week of February 2005 (3th of February- most probably)

3. The initiative group accepted the proposal  by project director Mr. Claes-Göran Beckeman (expressed in FTP introduction letter Lithuania on 6 December 2004) and would like to invite FTP-project personnel representative to visit Lithuania and introduce the FTP-project in detail. (3th of February 2005, or other suitable day for you at first week of February, we will choose day of official establishment of of FTP NSG correspondingly)
